Wembury

A National Trust sand-and-shingle beach east of Plymouth, backed by the Wembury Marine Centre and known for excellent rockpooling and snorkelling within the Wembury Voluntary Marine Conservation Area.

Excellent rockpooling, a marine centre with exhibits, and gently shelving sand.

Fishing

Sand patches, rocky reefs and kelp gullies support bass, pollack, wrasse, mackerel, pouting, poor cod and conger. Flooding tide into dusk is the strongest general window.

Crabbing

rock pooling recommended — National Trust and the Marine Centre support supervised rock pooling. Protect wildlife and replace stones carefully.
