Trevone Bay

A family-friendly sandy bay near Padstow with rockpools and the notable 'Round Hole' blowhole nearby, popular with bodyboarders on the right swell.

Family

Good rockpools and a shallower, more sheltered bay than nearby Harlyn, popular with families in summer.

Fishing

Trevone is a two-zone mark. The clean sandy bay produces surf bass, dogfish, occasional small-eyed rays and turbot, particularly on a flooding tide and after dark. The kelp-fringed rocky sides produce wrasse, pollack, mackerel and garfish in settled summer conditions, with conger and bull huss possible from rough ground at night.

Crabbing

recommended with close supervision — Padstow Tourist Information explicitly identifies the rocky beach and pools as suitable for children to explore and go crabbing. Prefer wildlife observation or hook-free lines in stable pools; avoid deep pool walls, swell-exposed rocks and overcrowded buckets.
