Trebarwith Strand

Dramatic cliff-backed sandy beach near Tintagel, popular with surfers; the sand disappears completely at high tide, leaving only rock and the tidal Port William pub terrace.

Family

Great for older children and rockpooling at low tide, but the beach vanishes at high water and currents can be strong.

Fishing

The sand supports surf bass and rays, while slate ledges hold pollack, wrasse and summer mackerel. Night rough-ground fishing can produce huss and conger. The mark has low safety tolerance and should be avoided in long-period swell.
