A small, elongated, scaleless rockpool fish with a blunt head, large eyes often topped with small fleshy 'eyebrow' tentacles, and a long, continuous dorsal fin.
Facts
- Common in rockpools and around harbour walls at low tide, often hiding under stones or in crevices.
- Can survive briefly out of water between tides by staying damp in pools and crevices.
- Almost always an incidental catch rather than a deliberate target, usually on tiny hooks close to structure.
