Dogs

Confirmed on Cornwall Council's official PSPO beach register: dogs banned 1 July - 31 August, 10am - 6pm, at Porthcurno Beach. Some secondary tourism sites describe a longer Easter-to-October restriction, but the council's own register is treated as authoritative here.

Family

Paid car park (~100 spaces), cafe, toilets and first aid point; a steep but short walk from car park to the sand.

Fishing

Porthcurno combines clean sand with granite margins. Bass and flatfish use the beach, while wrasse and pollack hold around the rocky edges; dogfish and conger are possible after dark from rougher ground. Fish outside busy bathing periods and avoid cliff-base routes in swell.

Species reported: Bass, Flatfish, Ballan wrasse and pollack, Lesser-spotted dogfish and conger

Crabbing

not verified for line crabbing — Rock pools and stream play are suitable for supervised exploration, but no stable family line-crabbing edge was verified.

Access & parking
