Family

Sheltered between headlands, calmer than Newquay's more exposed beaches, with cafe, toilets, disabled facilities, shop and bar.

Fishing

Porth is a shallow clean-sand bay best fished on a building tide into dusk or darkness. Bass use the gutters and stream influence, dogfish and rays feed after dark, flatfish use the sand and winter brings whiting. Rocky margins toward Porth Island can hold pollack and wrasse in settled water.
