Beach & safety

Water quality: Excellent

Lifeguard: None — no lifeguard cover at any time of year

Hazards: No lifeguard or safety equipment on the beach; can be cut off by the tide at the Carne end.

Dogs

The National Trust's own visitor page for Carne and Pendower states dogs are welcome across the site but must be kept on a lead on the beaches between 9am and 6pm from 1 May to 30 September, with close control expected year-round near livestock on the cliff paths.

Family

Long, quiet sandy beach good for a family day out, but no lifeguard, safety equipment or facilities directly on the sand.

Fishing

Gerrans Bay and Nare Head have established fishing, but adequate exact Pendower species and tactics evidence was not found. Keep the family beach unverified rather than importing Carne or headland claims.

Crabbing

rock pooling only — The SSSI rock pools support supervised exploration, but no stable line-crabbing edge was verified.
