Hayle Towans

The Hayle end of the three-mile dune-backed beach that runs through Gwithian to Godrevy — wide sand, good parking and a popular start point for the walk up the Towans.

Family

Wide, open dune-backed sand with parking close by — good for a full day out, though it's a big surf beach rather than a sheltered cove.

Fishing

Hayle Towans has mostly clean sand with shifting bars and gutters, plus stronger tidal pull near the estuary. Bass, flounder, dab and other flatfish use the surf and channel edges; whiting arrive in colder months and summer bait fish can bring mackerel, scad and garfish close.

Crabbing

not recommended — No protected crabbing edge was verified. The harbour and estuary mouth are high-current operational zones and should not be promoted for children.
