Family

Wide, open dune-backed sand with parking close by — good for a full day out, though it's a big surf beach rather than a sheltered cove.

Fishing

Hayle Towans has mostly clean sand with shifting bars and gutters, plus stronger tidal pull near the estuary. Bass, flounder, dab and other flatfish use the surf and channel edges; whiting arrive in colder months and summer bait fish can bring mackerel, scad and garfish close.

Species reported: Bass, Flounder, dab and Dover sole, Whiting, Mackerel, scad and garfish

Crabbing

not recommended — No protected crabbing edge was verified. The harbour and estuary mouth are high-current operational zones and should not be promoted for children.

Access & parking

Cornwall Council car parks along the Towans with dune paths to the beach. Sat-nav: TR27 5BT. Get directions →
