Harlyn Bay

A sheltered, family-friendly north-coast bay near Padstow, popular with beginner surfers and one of the more accommodating beaches in the area for dog owners.

Sheltered, gently shelving sandy bay good for beginner surfers, swimmers and young children — one of the more forgiving north-coast beaches.

Fishing

Harlyn is a clean-sand surf mark with rocky headlands. Bass patrol surf gutters on a flooding tide, especially into dusk or after a westerly blow begins to settle. Turbot and other flatfish use clean banks in calmer conditions, while wrasse and pollack hold around the rocky ends. Summer evenings can bring mackerel and garfish close to the points; winter produces whiting and dogfish.
