Dogs are allowed year-round at Gullane Beach; East Lothian Council contacted a beach-guide site to correct a claim of restrictions, confirming dogs are welcome. Close control requested in dune areas during summer ground-nesting season; excluded from designated children's play areas.

Large, popular family beach; dunes have soft sand and marram grass, watch small children near dune edges.

Fishing

The Forth sand, shingle and rocky features can support flatfish, winter codling and whiting, with bass and mackerel in warmer periods.
