Fistral South

The southern, slightly quieter half of Fistral Beach towards Newquay Headland — same excellent water quality and surf as the north end, with its own lifeguard station and car-park access.

Hazards: Rip currents are a known hazard on this exposed surf beach; a dog illness cluster was reported at Fistral/Little Fistral in early 2026 (cause unconfirmed) — worth a cautionary mention for dog owners.

Family

Same big-surf character as Fistral North — good facilities nearby but a serious swell means closer supervision is needed for young children.

Fishing

The same Fistral surf fishery applies, with bass, dogfish, rays and occasional flatfish over clean sand and wrasse, pollack and summer pelagics around the southern rocks. The south end is often best approached as a quieter flood-to-high or after-dark surf mark rather than a separate species venue.
