A small sand-and-rock bay right at the edge of Crail, popular with families for its sheltered position.

Hazards: Short-term pollution risk during/1-2 days after heavy rain (sewer overflow risk cited by SEPA).

Dogs

No dog ban found for Roome Bay or any Fife beach — Fife Council's own beach listing and multiple dog-walking guides list it as dog-friendly year-round. Keep dogs under control per the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and clean up after them; no lead-specific byelaw was found for this beach.

Family

Small, sheltered bay close to the town centre, good for young children, but mixed sand/rock underfoot.

Fishing

Rocky margins and kelp can support pollack, wrasse, coalfish and summer mackerel, with codling or bass depending on season and ground.
