Beach & safety

Water quality: Good

Lifeguard: The council's Resort Team provides year-round safety advice; no conventional RNLI lifeguard season was verified.

Hazards: Fast incoming tides, tidal channels, soft mud and sandbanks. Leave sandbanks well before high tide and swim only in the marked area.

Amenities: car-park · toilets · cafe · promenade

Dogs

Dogs are excluded from the central resort beach between Wonderland Rock Groyne and Cleethorpes Leisure Centre from Good Friday through 30 September inclusive. The beach southeast of the leisure centre towards Humberston Fitties remains available to dogs all year.

Family

Full resort facilities, promenade access and a marked swimming area, but the Humber has a very large tidal range and extensive sandbanks.

Fishing

Cleethorpes beach and nearby Humber frontage are documented for flounder, whiting, codling and occasional bass, with match reports also recording eels and small flatfish. Dedicated angling should be outside crowded resort periods and away from the marked swimming area. The pier and more southerly Humberston marks require separate access and permission checks.

Species reported: Flounder, Whiting, Codling, Bass, Eel, Dab

Crabbing

unknown — No current, authority-supported crabbing zone was verified. Do not infer crabbing from the pier or boating-lake setting without checking access and edge safety.

Access & parking

Level access from the central promenade and pier area. Sat-nav: DN35 8SJ. Get directions →
